DIY Halloween Costume

 Image via my blog.

I love the simplicity and cuteness of this mermaid. The simple sewing means it would work up quickly. If I had a little girl she would so be Ariel for Halloween!

Any ideas for cute boy costumes? I'm trying to convince my husband to be The Man in the Yellow Hat, the oldest to be Curious George and the little one to be Hundley. So far The Man and George are not cooperating.

They could be mermen. Man in the Yellow Hat has to sound better than that!

I wish I would have had this post 5 days ago! I just purchased my daughter a mermaid costume for her Halloween. I was being too lazy to sew it....this would have been one I would have done! dang it!

I wish I had some ideas. Too bad your boys aren't co-operating. In order to get all my boys aboard it has to involve fighting ... i.e. ninjas, dragons, army guys, etc.!

I'm actually thinking I could be a mermaid. Skirt- easy. Top- a little weird on a grown woman. Therein lies my dilemma.

Deidra--not really that much weird-er on you than the child. Me yes. You no. What if you made a sequin top and went as a fish...ala The Rainbow Fish? Or just go for Ariel and Chris can be Prince Eric.

Or you could wear a bikini top over the t-shirt instead of the shells. Bet you could find a cheap one on clearance.
