Pretties and a Cookie Flop

Both of these paper crafts make me want to wander the paper isle and then hole up creating.

Paper pumpkins from WhipperBerry. Would have already tackled this one, but the idea of hands covered in Mod Podge is holding me back.

Paper wallflowers from Billie Monster. But where would I put them?

If my KitchenAid had these vinyl decals it would get pulled from its cozy corner on the counter and put front and center.

Unless a chocolate chip cookie recipe calls for oatmeal they don't turn out for me. I was hopeful when I saw this recipe. But it was the same story, different recipe. Do you know the tricks to make a perfect chocolate chip cookie without the oatmeal? I need help.

Break out the cards

The regular UNO card was recreated to be more fun, more toddler-ish. The middle card (you can see the back) comes out and has the info on it.

A lot of family members are states and oceans away. I've been trying to find ways to stay involved in each other's lives even though we are seperated. I think it is important for cousins to know each other and aunts and uncles, but I have been having a hard time thinking of things to keep us connected. What I came up with is an invitation for them to celebrate Lincoln's birthday by playing a game of UNO! This is something they can do in their own families and maybe the birthday boy's name will come up a few times.Closer family members received details of the party in place of the invitation to play UNO.

Do you have any good tips to stay connected?

Blurb

My blog has replaced my journal. And to keep it more journal-ish and less intraweb-ish I copy and paste my entries into an InDesign file and print them off.

Until now. I discovered blurb.com today. This amazing little site lets you make books. And with their wonderful software you download, it will automatically take your blog and make a book!

You choose the layout, log into your blog, pick the entries and away it goes. It will take everything from your blog (pictures and all) and make a fanatastic book. Blurb even takes links from your posts and includes them in the footnotes.

There is no charge until you actually order a book. BUT they do recommend you print out a test copy from your home printer before ordering...

So long copy and paste. I am now blurbing my blog.

Sharing Doughuts

To celebrate National Doughnut Day we plan to buy a couple dozen doughnuts and have them boxed in quantities of six. One box for us and 3 to share!

Feel free to print off this tag, sign your name, and do the same. You will make 3 other's day and do yourself a favor by not eating a whole dozen yourself!
