These shortbread cookies really are easy! I mixed up a batch a few days ago and we've been cutting a baking daily for different Christmas parties.

If I were feeling more ambitious I'd decorate our photos like reindeer. Definitely next year.

Handmade Christmas :: Part 1

If you haven't met Ana before, let me introduce you. Ana White posts (free) furniture plans on her site. Plans that are very similar to furniture from places like Potterybarn, West Elm, Land of Nod, Crate and Barrel, etc.

If Santa can pull it off, he'll be leaving these under--or next to our tree. When shopping for the WOW gift we go for every year we decided this would be our best option since we'll need them eventually (we've had the plans printed off for at least a year...). And our 4 year old begs us for bunkbeds frequently (ever since he saw the cousins--he wants one blue and one green just like theirs too).

Land of Nod sells their's for $1,499. Last time we priced lumber we figured the total cost to be around $130 and I pick up a gallon of mis-mixed paint for $5. All we need to add is a little manual labor and we are set!

Stars: Thinking Fall

I have a feeling these jumping cups will be used to pass many hours this winter.

Do you know you need to be better at keeping track of special dates? Jot them down on this pretty birthday calender and you'll want to hang it where everyone can see.

It's tradition after Thanksgiving dinner in our family to have the ladies inside crafting and the men outside shooting skeet. These flowers would make a great project for this year.

It is officially cold--I'm having to get used to scraping the windshield before leaving. Which means soups are wiggling their way onto the menu.

Am excited to make these bonnets for our Joy School Thanksgiving feast.

Falling Stars

Made this popcorn yesterday for my VT ladies. Topped half with white and dark chocolate with almonds, and the other half with almonds, white chocolate and cinnamon.

Thinking I could make these. Because how fun would they be on my boys shoes? Way fun.

Cut fabric out with my Silhouette SD this morning. Oh the possibilities!

One of our favorite nights involved us hanging out in the boys room making shadow puppets. They would love these little guys (perhaps I'll have the Silhouette do all the hard work for me)

Pumpkin porridge. I'm imagining pumpkin pie for breakfast without the guilt.

This Pampered Chef Chicken Harvest Salad is one of my very favorites. What you put in the salad isn't nearly as important as the dressing. Delicious. I prefer apples, chicken, mandarin oranges and raisins though. Tonight we might get crazy and throw in some pomegranate seeds.

You mean all those people who have great pictures of their kids dressed up for Halloween planned it? Wow. This year I promise to try harder.

IKEA

It's no secret that IKEA has great prices on furniture and home accessories, but my favorite items to get aren't rugs and lamps. Nope, they are every day items with the same great prices we love IKEA for.

First, are their napkins. They have a huge selection, and I pick some up on every trip. It is nice to have pretty napkins on hand. There are solid, patterned, full, and half size napkins. They start at $1.49 for 30 ct. and work there way up to $3.99 for 100 ct.

And a friend recently introduced me to their resealable plastic bags (think Ziploc). They come in 4 different sizes, with 2 sizes to a box. The larger sizes are together and the smaller sizes a packaged together. As you can see they come in fun colors and patterns--making my freezer a happy place.
